Life is a learning experience
Out of tragedy, at least from my point of view can come good things.
Ever have one of those events that just takes the wind out of your sails? In the scheme of life, health and death this is minor, but in the life of Memory Cross this is going to be a setback, one that will hurt our ability to help others share the Gospel, decrease traffic coming to our site and also hurt us financially, including our ability to add new products this year.
It could have been avoided and while I'm not happy with Go Daddy, I could have and should have reacted earlier.
Memory Cross has had a blog for almost 10 years but today, when I tried to log on it, was gone, so I called and found out the credit card that I was using was one that had been replaced and the charge did not go through. Go Daddy sent us one email, which is probably somewhere in my spam folder. Unfortunately, this happened several months ago so it could have been avoided had we been posting or I had installed a back up that went outside of the Go Daddy environment, neither of which I did.
When I called they said the blog was gone and they had wiped the server so there was no way to recover. The blog represented over 50% of our traffic and sales.
I will be able to repost some posts that were emailed to me but many are gone forever.
Sooo the good news? We have a new blog and it is going to be part of our Shopify platform.
We'll be putting up resources to help in your walk with Jesus and ways to help you reach others with the message that God loves us!
