I still remember the first time I used a GPS years ago. It was incredible. No more folding paper maps, guessing at exits, or stopping at gas stations to ask for directions. All I had to do was type in the address, and instantly it showed me the best way to get there. Even when I made a wrong turn, it would calmly say, “Recalculating…” and guide me back on track.
That experience got me thinking: walking with God is a lot like using a GPS.
God Sees the Destination
When you’re driving, you only see a small portion of the road in front of you. But the GPS sees the entire route from start to finish. In the same way, God knows the end of our journey even when we can’t.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of this truth:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
We may not see what’s around the corner, but God does. He’s already mapped it out.
Guidance Through Life’s Turns and Roadblocks
Life doesn’t always go in a straight line. We hit challenges, delays, and dead ends that leave us confused. But God promises to guide us if we trust Him.
Proverbs 3:5–6 says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Just as a GPS corrects our course when we get off track, God can redirect our lives when we drift away. Even our mistakes can become part of His plan when we return to Him.
God’s Word: The Map for Our Journey
A GPS gives you turn-by-turn directions. God has already given us His Word as a guidebook for life.
Psalm 119:105 tells us:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
We don’t have to wander aimlessly or try to figure life out alone. God’s Word shows us the next step, even if we can’t see the entire road ahead.
Why I Made the “God – Your GPS for Life” T-Shirt
That’s why I created a shirt that says: “God – Your GPS for Life.”
