Churches put a great deal of work into planning Trunk or Treats and fall festivals. Volunteers decorate vehicles, prepare games, buy candy, organize food, and create a safe place where families can enjoy an evening together.

But even a well-planned event will fall short if families in the community never hear about it.

What would happen if you wore a shirt that simply asked, “How Can I Pray for You?” After my 15-year-old granddaughter wore one and a stranger stopped her to share a prayer request, we discovered just how powerful that simple question can be. Sometimes sharing our faith begins with being willing to listen, pray, and see what God does next.

Halloween may be one of the greatest outreach opportunities Christians have each year. Millions of children and families come right to our doors, churches, trunk-or-treats, and fall festivals. What if, along with the candy, we planted a seed of faith? We may never know how God will use a simple act of kindness, an invitation, or a Gospel message. Our job isn't to make the seed grow—it's simply to faithfully plant it, love people, share Jesus, and trust God with the results.
