A Legacy That Lasts Forever

A Legacy That Lasts Forever

A Legacy That Lasts Forever

As I get older, I find myself thinking more and more about what I want to leave behind, not in terms of possessions or accomplishments, but what truly matters. For much of my life, I thought the most important thing I could pass on to my children and grandchildren was the desire to be successful and happy.

And that’s still important. I want them to find joy in their work, to have strong marriages, to raise families filled with love, to have good friends and enough money to live comfortably. But I’ve come to realize that those things, as good as they are, don’t last forever.

What will last forever is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

That’s what I want more than anything for my family, that they would know Him, love Him, and serve Him. That they would trust Him in the storms of life and walk closely with Him every day. I want them to understand that true peace, true joy, and true purpose aren’t found in the world’s definition of success, but in knowing the One who gave His life for us.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33

That verse says it all. If they put God first, if they build their lives on the foundation of His Word and His truth, everything else will fall into place as it should.

So my prayer is simple:
Lord, help my children and grandchildren to know You deeply.
Let them see You not just as a name in a book or a Sunday tradition,
but as their Savior, their friend, their constant guide.
Give them hearts that love You and lives that reflect You.

If they have that;  if they know Jesus then I’ve given them the greatest gift a parent or grandparent could ever pass on.

If you’re reading this and feel the same way, I’d love to hear from you.
