My daughter and I traveled to Batey 7 in the Dominican Republic, a small village near the Haitian border where families live with very little—scarce electricity, shared water, and simple homes. One area where couples often face tension is money. And while it may seem countercultural—or even unromantic—to keep separate checking accounts in marriage, there are strong reasons to consider it, both practically and biblically.
